| ![]() Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort Taps Area Agencies Forte Creative Media and The Idea FactoryLas Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort (LVSSR) has tapped two area agencies to handle its public relations and marketing strategies: Forte Creative Media (FCM), a public relations agency and The Idea Factory, an advertising and marketing agency.
By: Forte Creative Media FCM leads the public relations effort that will communicate the unique snow sports opportunities available at LVSSR to the trade, local population and key tourist markets. Through its traditional and social media plans, the initiative will support LVSSR’s marketing strategy that’s being directed by The Idea Factory. Included in the marketing effort is a redesign of collateral materials and advertising campaigns, as well as the development of strategic partnerships that support LVSSR’s mission within the community. “It is important that we work with partners who understand how to communicate our message in an authentic manner, while still being able to address our unique position in the Las Vegas market,” explains Curt Sheffield, LVSSR’s director of business administration. “We feel we’ve got a perfect match with Forte Creative Media and The Idea Factory.” Prior to living in Las Vegas, Stephanie Forte, principal at FCM, spent nearly a decade in the well-known ski town of Aspen, Colo., working in the snow sports industry. “Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort is an important part of what makes Las Vegas unique—proximity to extraordinary outdoor recreation,” “Las Vegas offers many entertainment options, though Ski Vegas provides a unique experience for our community,” says Jan Scarborough, a 30-year resident of Las Vegas whose client list includes Terrible Herbst, Ben & Jerry’s and Gaming Laboratories Inc. “We’re selling fun and crafting messages about enjoying valuable life experiences for our youth and families. Especially now, that’s an important message to deliver.” In 2009, the two agencies collaborated on the U.S. Forest Service’s Sweep the Peak program, a litter prevention and cleanup initiative for the Spring Mountains National Recreation Area.
