Oct. 13, 2010 - PRLog -- Singapore Institute of Management was founded on 28 November 1964 by the Economic Development Board as a not-for-profit membership institution with the mission of developing Singapore’s human resource capital. In its early years of founding, SIM worked more as a training center in management for senior managers. In 1973, for the first time, SIM launched a Diploma program in Management Studies and ever since, SIM’s portfolio has grown to include a wide range of diploma, bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral programmes in partnership with established international universities. Singapore Institute of Management today comprises of 4 core businesses: SIM University (UniSIM), SIM Global Education (SIM GE), SIM Professional Development (SIM PD) and SIM Membership Services.

SIM GE has several successful partnerships with renowned universities from Australia, United Kingdom, United States and Switzerland. Together, we offer a wide spectrum of more than 50 undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs – you can get an overseas degree from Singapore at SIM.

Over the years, more than 84,000 SIM GE graduates have achieved their aspirations through SIM. Our current student enrolment is made up of 19,500 full-time and part-time students from Singapore and the region. Out of these, 3,000 are international students from more than 40 different countries.

Currently, SIM is the largest private tertiary institution in Singapore, in terms of campus size and student population. Facilities at the SIM GE Campus include 40 classrooms, 48 lecture theatres, 2 video conferencing rooms, 24 computer/science laboratories, 2 libraries, a multi-purpose hall, a student lounge and a bookstore. The SIM campus is self-sufficient for students to live, study and play, all under one roof. There are student government bodies for each university programme, more than 50 clubs in sports, art & cultural activity and special interest clubs.  These include the Cricket Club, Buddhist Bhavana Club, Economic Society, Green Living Club, Young Entrepreneur Network etc. There is also a hostel just for SIM GE students, a five-minute drive from the main campus.
