Non Profit To Assist Children Of Incarcerated Parents Afford College
ScholarCHIPS, a Washington DC non profit that helps children of incarcerated parents afford college, announces their kick off event for Saturday, October 23. There will be food, speakers, and more from 1-4pm at St. George’s Episcopal Church.

The kick off event, which serves to inform the public of the organization’
ScholarCHIPS encourages anyone interested to attend. The organization’
“Teens with incarcerated parents. They fall into the same trap,” says Arrington. “They’ll end up in juvenile detention or they won’t have a desire to go to college.”
Attendees can also expect spoken word performances from additional students as well as refreshments. The criteria for the awards will be announced so even current students are invited to attend. Donations to ScholarCHIPS will be accepted that day but can also be made through the organization’
