What you Need to Know About Medicare Supplements
An updated version of the BASICS brochure has been released by the Society of Certified Senior Advisors. BASICS discusses some of the most-often asked questions about Medicare Supplements including policy costs and open enrollment periods.
Excerpt from BASICS:
“A Medigap policy sold by private insurance companies can help pay some of the health care costs (“gaps”) that Original Medicare doesn’t cover, like copayments, coinsurance and deductibles, and medical care when you travel outside the U.S….Buying Medigap insurance is an important process which should include weighing your priorities, comparing policies, and balancing coverage with affordability.”
The BASICS guide will answer all your latest questions on Medicare Supplements, including:
1. How do I know if a policy is legitimate?
2. Do I need Medicare to get a Medigap policy?
3. Can I be canceled if I have a lot of health problems?
4. What are some examples of things that are not covered by Medigap policies?
5. and much more

SCSA’s mission is to educate professionals to work more effectively with their senior clients. For those who work with seniors, this means understanding the key health, social and financial factors that are important to seniors—and how these factors work together. CSAs are able to integrate this into their professional practices, no matter what field they’re in. They’ve learned how incredibly gratifying it is to help seniors achieve their goals, and the seniors they’ve worked with have learned how important it is to work with someone who truly understands their age-related circumstances.
