Follow on Google News | New Orleans Mayor to Deliver Opening Remarks at the First Annual Green Matters ConferenceNew Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu will deliver opening remarks at tomorrow’s Inaugural Green Matters Conference: “Green Cities, Business and Beyond” at the Westin New Orleans Canal Place Hotel, October 13-15, 2010.
Award-winning green mayors will discuss ways to create green jobs and healthy, more livable cities. Participants will learn about best practices from national experts in green business, green building, design and law. According to Michael Hecht, President and CEO of Greater New Orleans, Inc., the premiere regional economic development agency, “Industry, economic development, design and building professionals need broadly accepted standards and clear public policy on sustainability matters. The urgent need for the creation of green jobs and a regulatory infrastructure is particularly relevant in New Orleans, the host city of the Green Matters Conference”. Supporting sponsors of the conference include the Tulane School of Architecture and Global Green. The conference will provide CLE credits for legal professionals, along with the opportunity to network with colleagues and peers. It will also offer a LEED® pre-certification training course.
