By: ScholarWise Special Olympics Louisiana has announced the Second Annual ScholarWise $100,000 Scholarship Giveaway with a significant opportunity for qualifying Louisiana schools to win as much as $20,000. The money may be used by the schools for any of its financial needs. Here's how it works. The $100,000 Scholarship prize will be awarded to the lucky parent, grandparent, student, or teacher who buys the winning $100 raffle ticket being sold to benefit Special Olympics Louisiana. Schools throughout Louisiana are invited to participate as Premier Partners by agreeing to distribute information regarding the giveaway to the parents and grandparents of students. If any parent or grandparent or anyone affiliated with the school should win the $100,000 Grand Prize, the partner school would receive $10,000. Additionally, the school credited with the most tickets purchased by constituents would also receive $10,000. The ScholarWise Scholarship is unique. It is a non-traditional scholarship that may be used at any school, by any student, at any time. Funds may be applied to tuition at any grade level, including private elementary and high schools, room and board, books, fees, and education-related travel expenses. It can even be used to repay student loans. Sabrina Duhe, last year's winner, has already begun using ScholarWise for her two children's high school tuition. "We now have the ability to give our children educational opportunities they might not have had', said Duhe. Partner schools are not required to handle tickets nor money, only to distribute materials provided by Special Olympics Louisiana at no cost to the school. "This is a wonderful opportunity for schools, parents and students to support our Special Athletes in a mutually beneficial way. It's a win-win-win for all.", said Pat Carpenter Bourgeois, Executive Director of Special Olympics Louisiana. Schools interested in becoming Premier Partners and securing their eligibility to win up to $20,000 should contact Celeste Fox at 800-345-6644 or Fred Reggie at 888-373-4443 no later than November 15, 2010.
