Basingstoke Relocation Company takes the lead to help Food Aid Charity Group

Oct. 11, 2010 - PRLog -- When employees at HCR Group heard that Basingstoke Food Aid 4 U had opened a new Food Bank in the town, they decided to hold a “Harvest Festival” to collect food to donate to the charity, which distributes free food parcels to families and individuals facing a financial crisis.

Staff at the international employee relocation company spent last week rummaging in their kitchen cupboards, or adding a little extra to their weekly shop to contribute to a Harvest that grew to well over 120 donations.

HCR said “When we heard about Basingstoke Food Aid 4 U we immediately decided to hold a collection for the Food Bank. A tin of food can cost as little as 34 pence, so a Harvest Festival was an ideal way for every member of staff to contribute. It just goes to show how when everyone makes a small donation, it can help towards making really make a difference. Basingstoke Food Aid 4 U is an essential local service that is reliant on donations like these. We hope that HCR’s Harvest will encourage other local companies to follow in our footsteps and hold their own collections for the Food Bank”

Tracey Gauntlett and Martin Schroder, of Basingstoke Food Aid 4U, visited HCR’s offices at the Top of Town to receive the donation.

HCR’s Harvest will go a long way to helping many local people in need.”

The Charity, based at the YMCA off Eastdrop holds regular collections which are advertised on their website www.basingstokefoodaid4u.com.
