Majenta PLM appoints two new consultants to its technical team

Majenta PLM, a leading UK provider of product lifecycle management (PLM) software and services solutions, has expanded its technical support team with the appointment of two new pre- and post-sale consultants.

Oct. 11, 2010 - PRLog -- Cranfield, Bedfordshire. 11 October, 2010. - Majenta PLM, a leading UK provider of product lifecycle management (PLM) software and services solutions, has expanded its technical support team with the appointment of two new pre- and post-sale consultants. Neil Lewis has joined the team from Siemens PLM Software while Karl Hopkinson joins from J. C. Bamford Excavators Ltd, (JCB).

Neil Lewis
With a B.Eng. (Hons) degree in computer-aided engineering and an HNC in mechanical engineering, Neil Lewis was previously with Siemens PLM Software in the UK where, for the past 18 months, he had responsibility for pre-sales and business consulting, implementation, integration and enhancement of Teamcenter Reporting & Analytics, undertaking the analysis and solution design to satisfy customers’ business goals and objectives. Prior to that he spent two-and-a-half years as an implementation consultant, where he was responsible for technical work-streams, including definition and delivery and the integration of 3rd party applications into appropriate Teamcenter products, as well as into NX and Solid Edge.

Lewis started his career as an apprentice craftsman, first with a precision machining company and later with what is now GE Power Controls, where he became a design & development engineer and later ACB quality/performance team leader. Later he moved into product data management (PDM) software implementation and consulting roles with a number of companies, including Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG) and PTC, ArvinMeritor and Velmore.

Karl Hopkinson
With a B.Eng. (Hons) degree in mechanical engineering and a Level 3 Certificate in Management (CMI), Karl Hopkinson joins Majenta PLM from JCB where he was manager, PLM. There he was responsible for investigating and assessing new software tools and processes to complement JCB’s engineering processes, as well as assisting with the support and administration of the company’s existing Teamcenter-based PLM solution. Prior to that he was CAD/PLM integration/process manager where he was part of a team involved in a 2-3 year project to implement JCB’s enterprise-wide CAD/CAM/PLM solution. During this time he was involved in project management, requirements capture, user training, data cleansing and migration, application and workflow design and on-going technical support.

Before moving into PLM solutions development and implementation, Hopkinson was a design engineer at JCB where he worked on the design of the JCB Backhoe Loader using Unigraphics. Later he became the company’s CAD training engineer where he created and ran courses on Unigraphics as well as in dynamic and kinematic analysis using DADS, ADAMS and 3D Working Model. Three years later he was appointed a senior design engineer with JCB where he worked on the company’s new engine project.
