Oct. 8, 2010 - PRLog -- Kyle Daley has invested hundreds of hours developing http://milliondollartreasurehunt.com/ to make a difference in the battle to end world hunger by taking the centuries old hobby of treasure hunting and launching it into cyberspace. But there is one big problem.

Mr. Daley cannot find a charity organization willing to accept a half million dollar donation to feed the hungry.

Calgary, AB, October 8, 2010 – With Hunger Action Month just behind us and World Food Day coming this October 16th, one would think charities concerned with feeding the hungry would have their hands open to all donations.  This is not the case as a Calgary man and entrepreneur is finding out.

As Daley shared, “We live in a very prosperous country with unlimited opportunity and I have always been thankful for that so I wanted to do something to give back.  Then when you try doing something to help those in need you get turned down, I truly am in a state of disbelief.”

The reason Daley looked to the web to build a solution was wanting a place where people and business could unite to help in the fight against world hunger.

Daley`s website is designed to engage visitors in a contest to search for cash and other prizes in the form of treasure buried in sponsoring websites. Businesses sponsoring the cash contest benefit from a large volume of internet traffic scouring their site to find the loot.  Daley added, “I believe this creates a hat-trick situation where people have the chance to win cash prizes, businesses will have visitors pouring over every page of their website and several anti-poverty organizations get a large cash donation, everybody wins.”

The charitable donation is a major component of Daley`s website. Daley added, “Without a charity stepping up to the plate, the official launch of the treasure hunt has to be pushed back.” Daley remains hopeful he will secure a charity organization soon.

Daley also revealed another reason for working with charities online. “We are seeing a major shift where people are choosing the internet over other media and to get your message out in front of people you have to go where they are hanging out.” Why the shift? Daley believes people are bored of passive entertainment and are attracted by the interactivity and sheer variety of content available on the internet.
