Follow on Google News | Damian Hinds MP Visits Treloar’s School and College in Alton HampshireThe Member of the Parliament for East Hampshire, Damian Hinds, recently visited Treloar’s school and college for physically disabled children and young people in Alton, Hampshire.
By: Treloars Physically Disabled School and College Mr Hinds firstly dropped in on a number of activities at the Treloar School for physically disabled children including physiotherapy, and a speech and language session. He also attended an interesting lesson in literature, where Treloar’s students were busy studying some of Shakespeare’ The visit then continued at the Treloar College for physically disabled young people, where Damian was greeted by Principal Amanda Quincey. The tour of Treloar’s College included a visit to TEPS - Treloar’s Enterprise Printing Solutions, where Damian was presented with a picture and coaster specially produced by a student to commemorate his visit. Damian Hinds commented that he enjoyed his visit, adding that “Treloar’s is an amazing facility – a national and international leader – which we are very lucky to have in East Hampshire. The School and College’s level of care, creativity and ambition of all students are truly impressive and inspiring.” Treloar Trust provides education, care, therapy, medical support and independence training to young people with physical disabilities from all over the UK and overseas. Its aim is to prepare these young people for adult life, giving them the confidence and skills to achieve their full potential. Founded in 1907 by the then Lord Mayor of the City of London, Treloar’s is a registered charity with an annual turnover of around £19 million. Patrons of Treloar’s Trust include Michael Aspel, Roger Black, Alistair Stewart, Alan Titchmarsh and Richard Stilgoe. The organisation is currently working towards achieving Vision Treloar’s an ambitious programme of development which will involve relocating the School and Trust to the College site in Holybourne.
