Danny Goldring, Lawrence Grimm Star In “A Perfect Manhattan” at Chicago International Film Fest

Oct. 7, 2010 - PRLog -- CHICAGO, Illinois  – AXIOM Megamedia is proud to announce the Chicago premiere screening of the dramatic short, “A Perfect Manhattan” starring Chicago locals Danny Goldring and Lawrence Grimm at the 46th Chicago International Film Festival on October 11, 17th and 19th.

Goldring and Grimm, who have shared the stage together in Red Orchid Theatre productions, now for the first time, share time on the big screen together. Written by local first-time screenwriter, Bradley J. Taylor and directed by local first-time director, Dean Berdusis, “A Perfect Manhattan” brings to life William’s (Danny Goldring) demanding drink request which irritates bartender, Jimmy (Lawrence Grip) to no end and brings him to the breaking point.  The movie also features performances from James Anthony Zocolli as a cell phone-addicted day trader and Richard Cotovsky as a blue-collar construction worker.

The movie was filmed in Chicago at the Long Room Bar and was produced by Laura Szymber, shot and edited by Brian Kallies, with original music and sound design by Brando Triantafillou.

“A Perfect Manhattan” marks the second film accepted into the Chicago International Film Festival that Szymber and her production company, AXIOM Megamedia, produced.  Last year, Szymber produced the award-winning comedy short, “An Evening with Emery Long”, written and directed by Brad Demarea, which took home numerous awards including the Chicago International Film Festival’s llinois(e)Maker Silver Award in addition to the Illinois Film Office “Shortcuts” Award, which was also presented at the festival.  

“It’s an honor to be accepted again into the Chicago International Film Festival and, more importantly, to be a Chicago based filmmaker.  There is an untapped pool of creativity and resources here and Chicago is a very film friendly city,” Szymber noted.

“A Perfect Manhattan” screened at the LA Shorts Film Festival in July of 2010 and will screen again at the Illinois International Film Festival in November.
