Panama City Beach Halts Winter Hibernation!

More Activities, More Entertainment, More Fun – All Year Long!

Oct. 7, 2010 - PRLog -- Once a sleepy little town after the start of the school year, Panama City Beach no longer hibernates during the winter months!   In the past Panama City Beach essentially closed its doors after the summer vacation season ended. Many of the restaurants, attractions, and beach stores would simply lock up and wait for the off season to end, leaving locals and a few tourists without anything to do and very few choices to go out to eat.   Those days are long gone with more festivals and events, more attractions, more shopping, more dining, and more reasons to visit all year long, Panama City Beach has come to be a year-round destination!

Despite the down economy, the Florida Panhandle continues to grow with the recent opening of the new Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport, making it even easier for travelers to visit the area.  Over the past few years Panama City Beach has added 3 big attractions with Wonder Works, Ripley’s Believe it or Not, and the Pier Park shopping and entertainment complex, adding to the area’s already wide array of attractions that includes Gulf World Marine Park and Shipwreck Island.  With all the new things to do in the area and the new airport making it easier to get to the beach, hotels and travelers alike are both welcoming the changes.  “It’s true that this town used to basically hibernate during the winter months, but over the past few years, all the new attractions, shopping, and restaurants have really changed the tourism patterns in the destination.  Guests are starting to see more things to do during the fall so they’re starting to visit during the fall.  Once they’re here for the beautiful weather and great values during the softer travel season, they’ll want to make fall travel a tradition.” Says Philip Colvin, Marketing Director at the #1 family resort on Panama City Beach, the Holiday Inn Resort.

After the summer season ends and value season begins, this area not only stays awake but really comes alive with a variety of annual events!  Thunder Beach Fall & Spring Rallies, the Seafood, Wine, and Music Fest, Emerald Coast Cruzin’ car show, are just a few events you’ll find on Panama City Beach – and all during a time where you can get more for your money!  Restaurants and attractions run specials and hotel rates are much cheaper – even at the most sought after resorts!

The Holiday Inn Resort really goes above and beyond for their guests all year long with live entertainment, kid’s activities, manager’s receptions, and plenty of other additional amenities, but during the fall through spring months this beachside resort can be enjoyed at a much reduced price. “There’s nothing better than getting a Sandal’s-like experience on a Holiday Inn Budget - and without the travel hassles” says Colvin.  This trend holds true for almost every hotel along the beach.  “I have a quiet, relaxed, home-away-from-home hotel right on the Gulf of Mexico and have many guests who come before or after the summer months because they can actually enjoy the beaches and the local attractions more without the huge crowds – and they get a much better rate!” Says Betty Spence, General Manager of the Casa Loma, Panama City Beach.   For information on the Holiday Inn Resort, or the area of Panama City Beach visit www.hipcbeach.com.  To find out more about the Casa Loma, visit www.casalomapcb.com.
