FPD Medical Ltd - Aderma; used during Epidurals to help prevent pressure ulcers formulating

Oct. 7, 2010 - PRLog -- Recently here at FPD Medical as part of a new Marketing campaign we have been asking for feedback on the Aderma range so that we can improve the product, its functionality and draw attention to Aderma’s strengths, weaknesses and opportunities.

With regards to pressure ulcer prevention the Aderma range is exemplary with users continually submitting positive       comments as well as highlighting other areas of use they have come across for the product. To date one of the main uses brought to our attention is the use of Aderma on Epidural patients.

An Epidural is an injection that numbs the lower half of your body including the abdomen, pelvic area and legs. Epidurals are commonly used during lengthy surgery and there are 2 types; Analgesia which stop you feeling any pain and Anaesthetic which stops you feeling any sensation.

The Aderma range is used in both types of Epidurals as pressure ulcers are highly prone with immobile patients. During an Epidural we have been told that the entire Aderma range is commonly used to act as a substitute for fatty tissue in prominent areas whilst the patient is in surgery and unable to move.

The use of Aderma during Epidurals has been sparking so much interest that many acute trusts have stated that they are pursuing the need for Aderma to become mandatory on all Epidural patients.
