By: Friends of Dress for Success RI, J. Hennessey “We want to encourage Rhode Islanders to donate suits and gently worn career separates during Dressbarn’s S.O.S. Week to give disadvantaged women the opportunity to Dress for Success and change their lives,” said Peggy Porter-Quinlan, co-founder of Dress for Success Rhode Island and resident of Warwick. Women can donate gently used suits and career separates at the flagship Warwick Dressbarn store at 399 Bald Hill Road Oct. 10-16. All contributions are tax deductible and a receipt will be provided. To date, Dressbarn, with more than 825 stores around the U.S., has collected more than 275,000 suits and separates from customers and associates and has distributed 40,000 new items to its affiliates. Call 401.732- Founded in New York City in 1997, Dress for Success is an international not-for-profit organization offering services designed to help underprivileged women find jobs and remain employed. Each Dress for Success client receives one suit when she has a job interview and can return for a second suit or separates when she finds work and joins the Professional Women’s Group, where she receives education, mentoring, and networking. Since 1997, Dress for Success has served more than 500,000 women around the world. Each year the organization reaches more than 45,000 women in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Mexico, Poland and the West Indies.
