By: Adele Woodthorpe weekend of December, Ethical Just Got Fabulous makes its Notting Hill debut at London's 20th Century Theatre. Names of note are Izzy Lane, the award winning ethical fashion label, Fifi Bijoux and Enamore. Recently launched by Naomi Cornelius-Reid (Director, NV London Calcutta), Katy Pullen (Director, Aspara) and Leona Mani (Director, Bestfairtrade.com) it was about time that you could find the best in ethical fashion and lifestyle under one roof, and so 'Ethical Just Got Fabulous', the first ethical pop-up department store showcasing emerging ethical designers, talents and brands, was born. Fairtrade to the core, 'Ethical Just Got Fabulous' only charge a fair and honest split of the event's running costs to exhibitors. It is purely a not-for-profit company working to bring ethical shopping to the forefront of the consumer’s mind by offering a glamorous platform to showcase a host of ethical brands that embody both fair trade principles and essential style. A rare and bold move for the girls to have taken, but by doing this they offer a direct route to the consumer at very little cost, for the exhibiting brands and a unique shopping experience for even the most jaded shopaholic. Visitors will be treated to live jazz, mini manicures, mulled wine and a raffle for a chance to win bundles of goodies - including a gift from each brand showing. Woodthorpe Communications 47 Bedford Street, Covent Garden, London WC2E 9HA 020 7240 4795 www.woodthorpecommunications.com WWW.ETHICALJUSTGOTFABULOUS.COM Editors’ notes Striving to practice what they preach, the girls have also set up a Future Fabulous competition for 4 local schools. They will visit each one and talk to the pupils about ethical consumerism, educating them in how they can help and inviting them to design and make their own sustainable Christmas cards and Christmas decorations. All entries will be judged by the ‘Ethical Just Got Fabulous’ expert panel where the winners will receive ethical goodies bags to the value of £100 and their cards and decorations displayed over the weekend. Not stopping there, they are also continuing to work closely with the London College of Fashion, offering students with an ethical fashion focus an opportunity to work on a real project and gain valuable industry experience by helping with the all aspects of the shopping event. Doors open on Saturday 10am till 6pm and Sunday 4th & 5th December 11am – 5pm and it's free entry for all, with mulled wine and much, much more. So why not pop down and see what ethical gems you will find?
