Indian Gifts & Handicrafts revises website design to enhance user experience

These modifications cover several key elements of the website including the top navigation, enquiry forms, content boxes, and resolution among others.

The site's top navigation has been converted to a drop-down menu that will allow visitors to quickly find the content or information from within any of the tens of sub-categories grouped under the seven major heads, namely, handicraft products, history, processes, materials, industry, library and the handicrafts suppliers' directory.

Finding related content has also been made easier for users by offering suggestions about the other pages on the site that might be of interest to them, as they surf through. This has been accomplished using a "This might also interest you" box that appears at the end of the content on a page. The box lists several pages and articles, culled from over 2,300 pages across the portal based on their similarity and relevance to the content being viewed.

As for business users of the site, they will now be able to request information or send trade enquiries from any page on the website, since the new "Quick Quotation Form" has been placed on all the pages of the handicraft website. This measure is intended to add to the convenience of finding suitable business partners, and save time.

In addition to the new features added, the layout of the handicraft portal now features a fixed design format at 1024 pixel resolution, this will enable the site to be rendered consistently across all resolutions, browsers and platforms, allowing visitors to have a uniform and consistent surfing experience.
