Significant reforms are currently being reviewed and implemented on both federal and state levels of government on the policies of child protection and youth justice. The Youth Law and Juvenile Justice Forum aims to bring together professionals from these areas to provide essential legal and policy updates on juvenile justice, as well as examine the work being done by those from social work, youth support, law enforcement, education and community to deal with young offenders. The forum will look at current frameworks and thinking into improving outcomes for youth and their communities, as well as examples of support programs that have been developed to prevent recidivism and change the long-term prospects for young offenders. It is an opportunity to discover and discuss what reforms and innovations need to take place within juvenile justice to lead to positive change for youth at risk.
