Oct. 5, 2010 - PRLog -- If you have ever felt slightly nervous while out walking or jogging at night then this iPhone app might just be for you. If the user at anytime feels threatened or uncomfortable in any situation, he or she can activate ShakeAlert by simply shaking the iPhone or iPod Touch. A screeching siren and flashing screen immediately starts to warn off would be attackers and attract the attention of passers-by. Simultaneously, the App sends out an SMS (Text) message telling the recipient that the user needs help and giving their location.

ShakeAlert has a number of advanced features. A unique shake detection technique is used to prevent accidental alarm activation. The siren sound is engineered to give the loudest possible volume and effect from the built-in phone speaker and the phone's GPS is used to send out the user's location via an SMS message.

The app is compatible with:
 * all iPhone versions including the iPhone4
 * Iphone OS 3.0 to 4.x
 * iPod Touch version 2 and higher (note SMS option not available with iPod Touch)

The app is priced at €0.79

The app can be downloaded on the AppStore (http://itunes.apple.com/app/shakealert/id370438318?mt=8)
