Famed Scientist And Physician Bilked Out Of Life Work By Convicted Felon Right Under FBI's Nose

In 2007, Adam Stuart Zuckerman was convicted of defrauding several banks in a scheme which the FBI calls "Operation Lease Fleece." After pleading guilty, Mr. Zuckerman was granted a conditioned release and delayed sentencing date for reasons unknown, at which time it appears he proceeded to set up a similar scam using a series of shell companies designed to create the illusion of investing money into biotechnology companies. Enter Dr. Scott Connelly.

In order to fund this endeavor, he was introduced to Zuckerman, who concealed his true identity by dropping his last name and simply going by Adam Stuart. Zuckerman represented that he controlled a series of companies including Mercury Ventures and VenturePharma that had access to millions in investment capital and could easily raise the seed capital Dr. Connelly needed. The truth is that Zuckerman did not have access to investment capital and defrauded  Dr. Connelly and numerous other investors out of millions of dollars.  Dr. Connelly now stands to lose his life’s work and intellectual property—a priceless legacy in advancement of medicine that could potentially benefit millions of patients worldwide--due to Zuckerman’s actions.
