SKY 3D GLASSES, WHERE TO BUY?

Sky 3d Channel Launch Oct 1st, Customers Looking For 3D Glasses,

Which Glasses? Where Can You Buy Sky 3D Glasses, i-3k.com Selling 3D Glasses

From 1st October 2010 all Sky customers with a HD set top box will be able to watch the new Sky 3D channel. Sky are offering a range of programs for the worlds first 3D channel including special feature documentaries, films and sports.

To watch the channel in 3D, Customers will need to have a 3D ready TV and of course, The all important 3D glasses.

Which 3D glasses you will need will depend on which type of 3D Format your TV is using. There are two formats currently on the market which are the Active 3D Format and the Passive 3D Format.

Customers buying the Active 3D TVs will need to think about the cost of the Active glasses which are priced at about £100 per pair. The Active glasses also require batteries and are not compatible between brands. The Active TVs come with one or two pairs of glasses but for the average family the cost of glasses and long term cost of maintenance/replacement may be an issue. Group viewing may also be a problem unless everyone has a pair of the same glasses. There also may be underlying health issues with the constant flickering of images that the active lens system uses to create the 3d image.  These glasses are available through the TV manufacturers and some electrical retailers.

A far simpler option is the Passive 3D Format which uses Passive 3D lens technology; no batteries and no flickering images. The Passive 3D glasses are a much cheaper option with basic models for under £1 each. Passive 3D TVs are available now and come with a handful of passive 3D glasses. LG are leading the way for the Passive Format with their first Passive 3D TV available now in shops. Although marginally more expensive, customers will be saving more money in the long run as the Passive glasses are far cheaper to buy. For replacement glasses you can use the cheap disposable glasses from the cinema or go online and visit i-3k.com for a full range of passive 3D Glasses. Unlike their Active counterpart the Passive glasses are compatible with each other so you can use your passive 3D glasses to watch 3D films at the cinema, 3D sports at the pub and 3D at home with your friends and family.

With 3D TVs starting to appear in the high street consumers will be looking for choice, quality and value for money before making a purchase.

Dawn from Sussex said, “I will be waiting for reasonably priced Passive TV. The glasses are cheap and my kids can use them for the cinema as well.”

Simon from Lewes said, “ I have concerns about the health issues raised with the Active glasses so I will be looking for a Passive system to have at home”.
