Oct. 7, 2010 - PRLog -- JERSEY CITY - Got talent but don’t know what to do with it?  Want to dance but need to fine tune your moves?  Need to put on a show but don’t know how to start?  Well, look no further.  Dance Roots Etc., one of New Jersey’s premier boutique choreographic and artist development production houses, will get you there.

Founded by dancer/choreographer and former music industry A&R coordinator Lynette “Elle” Mayo, this new production company helps to create a complete package for a developing artist in all areas of entertainment.  Elle focuses on helping each individual enhance their natural abilities and blend music and dance.  Dance Roots Etc. also helps to develop a client’s personal style and flair in order to reach their potential.

“I wanted to establish a production company where several areas of expertise can be offered under one umbrella,” says Elle, whose resume includes creative directing and music consulting.

As the creative force behind Dance Roots Etc., Elle realizes that talent is not enough to succeed in the competitive entertainment industry.  Dancers, performers, singers, and personalities need direction, and someone to help them enhance their image.

“I do believe people forget that entertainment is a business first; You are your own brand,” says Elle, adding that performers must know what tools and skills are needed to be taken seriously in the industry.

It doesn’t end there.  Part of that package includes not only being a great performer, but also looking and dressing the part.  As a multi-faceted production house, Dance Roots Etc. works with clients on choreography, imaging, developing a repertoire that suits their personality and honing their stage presence.  Dance Roots Etc. does it all.

But most importantly, Elle’s background as a dancer/choreographer helps her clients learn how to “Meld Movement with Music,” thus allowing them to be successful in their craft.

“My goal is to create dance from the soul,” says Elle about her first love.  “It is an art form that has always been a part of me, something I am passionate about and who I am as a person.  So that in itself gives me inspiration.”

In addition to working with creative and performing artists, Dance Roots Etc. offers group and private dance instruction in stepping, hip-hop, dancehall, African fusion, exotic dance fitness and cheerleading, catering to the beginner through the advanced level dancer.  “I am passionate about many dance styles but I have to say stepping is the one style I am most excited about because it has such historical African roots.  My stepping experience goes back to my collegiate years and I look forward to teaching and educating others about this very unique dance genre.”
