ProtoCall One sponsorship helps Birkdale School enjoy New Zealand rugby tour success

Sept. 30, 2010 - PRLog -- ProtoCall One, the leading contact centre consultancy and systems integrator, saw its team shirt sponsorship with Birkdale School in Sheffield go global as the school’s under 17 rugby development team enjoyed a challenging rugby tour across New Zealand and the remote Cook Islands, some 2000 miles north-east of New Zealand.

The company provided the entire 22-strong team with full sponsored rugby kit for their tour.  The students left the UK on 25th July and enjoyed four rugby fixtures with leading schools across New Zealand and the Cook Islands.  Their first two fixtures were on the North Island with Mahurangi College in Warkworth, an hour’s drive north from Auckland, followed by Bethlehem College, Tauranga, three hours drive south-east of Auckland.  The team suffered two defeats, but enjoyed great hospitality including meeting former All Black Adrian Cashmore and witnessing traditional Maori ceremonies.

The second half of the tour saw fixtures at Kaiapoi High School, near Christchurch on the South Island, before flights out to the remote Cook Islands, playing Arorangi, where Birkdale secured victory.  All team members thoroughly enjoyed the tour, with many memorable experiences including whale watching, white-water rafting and helicopter rides.
