Sept. 29, 2010 - PRLog -- New Braunfels, Texas – Representatives of the Coalition for Equitable Water Rates (CEWR) met with local Comal County officials to discuss the proposed water rate increases. Comal County Commissioner, Jan Kennady, expressed an interest in reasonable water rates and informed representatives of CEWR and Canyon Lake Water Service Company (CLWSC) that she would actively monitor the situation. Commissioner Kennady plans to speak about the issue as she represents Comal County on the regular Commissioners Court Radio program and stated, “I will learn all I can about this proposed increase and speak to others about my interest and concerns”.

The CEWR hopes to host a public forum in October inviting representatives of local government and the management of CLWSC to discuss the proposed water rate increase.  It is anticipated that such a dialogue can foster a better understanding of the proposal and give all parties a chance to discuss any possible alternative solutions.
