Sept. 29, 2010 - PRLog -- San Diego, Ca – Today San Diego Boca FC announced their first ever FIFA ‘11 Xbox360 tournament to take place at the BOCA Soccer Store in Old Town San Diego, off of the 5 freeway at 1919 San Diego Avenue. The tournament will be held on Saturday, October 9, just 11days after the release of the latest installment of the FIFA soccer series.

FIFA ‘11 is a soccer game for PS3, PC, Wii, and Xbox 360 that is well recognized as the most popular video game in the world. The game was created by EA Sports, whose other popular sports titles include the Madden, Tiger Woods, and NCAA Football franchises, among others. The popularity of FIFA in the U.S. has grown significantly in recent years, due to an increase in the overall level of interest of Americans in the sport.
The tournament will be held at 10:00 AM at the Boca Soccer Store on Saturday, October 9, 2010. The entry fee is $10 to compete to win prizes valued up to $150. Teams are available on a first come first served basis, and more information can be found on the Boca FC website, www.sdboca.com.

Tournament creator and Media Relations Assistant Ryan O’Shea stated, “FIFA is an extremely fun game that is very popular with the college students these days, because of its quick and challenging game play. No game has ever given me the sense of accomplishment that I get when I score a header after a beautiful cross into the box. Now I will hope to share that challenge with the San Diego public and crown a FIFA champion.”

To register for the tournament follow the FIFA Tournament link on the sdboca.com website or call the Boca Soccer Store at (619)-756-7528 and pick your team today. The tournament will follow the standard 32 team World Cup format, including group stage and knockout stages, so sign up now, and prove you have what it takes to be the FIFA “Grand Master.”
