Ed Hindson To Speak At Prayer Breakfast

Annual Downriver Prayer Breakfast Slated for December 3 2010
 
Sept. 29, 2010 - PRLog -- An  author and Christian writer of over 20 books dealing with Biblical prophecy, former Downriver resident Dr. Ed Hindson, will return to his roots as the guest speaker at the 23rd annual Downriver Community Prayer Breakfast at Crystal Gardens, 16703 Fort St., Southgate, beginning with a buffet breakfast at 7:00 a.m., followed by the 8:00 a.m. program.

Hindson and his wife, the former Donna Currie, who was born in Southgate and graduated from Roosevelt High School in Wyandotte, have been married for 36 years and are the parents of three children, Linda, Christy and Jon.He grew up in Allen Park and graduated from Melvindale High School in 1963.

Hindson spent the summers of 1964 to 1966 working for Great Lakes Steel in Ecorse, Chrysler Corp. in Trenton, and Whitehead and KalesWhile living in the area, he taught and directed Bible clubs in Allen Park, Lincoln Park, Trenton, Melvindale, Grosse Ile and John Glenn High School in Westland for the Voice of Christian Youth .

He graduated from William Tyndale College in Farmington Hills and also holds advanced degrees from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, Grace Theological Seminary and Westminister Theological Seminary as well as a doctor of philosophy degree from the University of South Africa.

Currently, he is a professor of religion at Liberty University, Lynchburg, Va, and has a weekly cablecast  at 3 p.m. Sundays on Trinity Cable.

“My greatest desire is to lift up Jesus Christ and proclaim His Gospel to the entire world,” Hindson said, noting that serving as president of the World Prophetic Ministry allows him to carry out this mission.

For more than twenty years, the purpose of the annual prayer breakfast has been to gather community leaders in a spiritual atmosphere with the intent to have the participants leave the prayer breakfast with a personal commitment to morally conduct their business and community affairs. Past speakers have included Ernie Harwell, Bill McCartney, Bruce Wilkinson and Gloria Gaither.
   
The Prayer group always appreciates donations and those who make $500 donations will be honored as sponsors of the program and those donating $100 will be listed as patrons.

Reservations for the event may be made before Nov. 20 by sending a check for $15 per ticket, payable to Downriver Community Prayer Breakfast, to  Bovitz CPA, PC, 1651 Kingsway Court, Box 445, Trenton, MI 48183. Ten guests will be seated at each table.

Chairmen of the event are Harry E. Lester, former director of the United Steelworkers District 2, and Leon L. Judd, retired vice-president of Human Resources, National Steel.
