Ignitee promotes Shankar B to Chief Operating Officer

Sept. 29, 2010 - PRLog -- Digital marketing company Ignitee Digital Solutions has promoted Shankar B as Chief Operating Officer. In his new role, Shankar will be reporting to Atul Hegde, CEO, Ignitee Digital Solutions, and take charge for both the India & the middle-east operations. Prior to this, Shankar was National New Business Director.

Commenting on the development, Atul Hegde said, With Shankar based in Delhi, our presence in that important market will get a big boost. He has had a great start to his innings at Ignitee and Im sure going forward he will lead the organisation to many more milestones. I wish him all the very best in his new role.

On his new role, Shankar said, Im extremely happy to be promoted as COO and excited to be a part of the aggressive plans of Ignitee. I really look forward to this challenge.

When asked about Ignitees plans ahead, Hegde replied, Geographic expansion will continue at Ignitee. We started our Dubai operations last year. This year, we have started activity in Sri Lanka and the response has been very encouraging. We will also add one more market in the middle-east soon.

He further said, The core thrust is social media and it will continue as it is where we have a leadership position today. We will also get aggressive in our digital sports wing. The recent video blog series with Harsha Bhogle has been a huge success and we have a few more digital sports property coming up.

Shankar, who had joined Ignitee in December 2009, has 16 years experience in the field of media sales, including eight years in the television space. He has worked with reputed Indian media brands like the Indian Express Group and has been instrumental in successfully launching Hindi newspaper Navbharat.
