Follow on Google News | Emergency Pensions Clinic ExtendedHelp Line Will Stay Open to Meet Demand Says 1994 MD Peter Avery
By: Carl Nagaitis, Bryher Business Partnership Telephone lines into the Help Desk at the city centre offices of 1994 were kept so busy that founder and Managing Director of the City Centre consultancy Peter Avery has now pledged to extend the service for another week. “It is clear that there is a great deal of concern out there and I am conscious that we were so busy that quite a number of people may not have been able to get through to us,” said Mr Avery. “So I have decided to extend this offer to give as many people as possible the opportunity to have their minds put at rest. “Of course, if it looks like a caller’s pension is at risk we will give them some options to consider.” The ‘Pensions Clinic’ was devised after the latest survey into the pensions crisis found that many people face the prospect of receiving approximately half the pensions income they would have received 15 years ago. “We know that employees who want to retire are facing a nightmare which no previous generation has had to cope with,” added Mr Avery. “That’s why we set up the ‘Pensions Clinic’ – to give people access to the basic advice they so badly want. So we will continue to give callers a brief consultation for absolutely no charge. “The experts all agree that the pensions sector is in crisis,” added Peter. “But there are steps we can take to mitigate the problem. And the first step required is to take advice, hence our Pensions Clinic.” For further information call 1994 at 01244 69 1994 End
