Over a Third of Newly-weds Plan First Christmas Alone Together

Sept. 28, 2010 - PRLog -- The online forum at http://www.weddingideasmag.com posed the question “Where will you spend your first Christmas together?”  The majority of couples plan a cosy day alone together.  However 29% of respondents plan to visit their own parents with only 11% of new brides anticipating a visit to their new in-laws.  Around 9% of couples will be at their own home, inviting their in-laws or own parents over.

Just 4% of newly weds are expecting to spend Christmas separately, with 3% planning a holiday together.

Rachel Morgan, Editor of Wedding Ideas magazine, commented:  “Couples cited various reasons for staying at home; not wanting to travel hours in different directions, wanting to spend time with their children, expecting to be in the labour ward of their local hospital, not wanting to cart toddlers and babies around.  Our forum questions usually get a lively response and this was no exception.”
