Sept. 27, 2010 - PRLog -- In the Journal of American Society of Plastic Surgeons, dozens of articles outline the many innovative cosmetic surgery procedures coming soon to a clinic near you. More interesting in the journal is a report that spending remains strong on cosmetic improvements despite a recession.

What is notable, according to the journal, is that people are spending more on less invasive procedures as opposed to two years ago, and that procedures following weight loss are increasingly popular.  People are working hard to lose weight and are then repairing any outstanding body issues such as sagging tissue.

In fact, surgeons are even researching ways to better rejuvenate sagging breast tissue after weight loss.  Dr. Albert Losken, in the September 2010 issue, suggested the answer is glandular manipulation rather than skin manipulation.

Trainer Plus a fitness center and supplement manufacturer in Naples, Fla. has been in the weight loss business for more than 20 years.  Owner Nick Smith said he has seen time and again the struggle people often go through during and after the weight loss process.  In 1999, Smith developed several all-natural weight loss products and protein shakes called Trainer Plus, creating a brand that would take off and be used by the Miami Dolphins and Papa John’s Pizza Chain owner John Schnatter.

Smith is looking to potentially distribute his products nation-wide, and is looking to the contest to raise awareness about his homeopathic options for losing weight. In September, Smith launched weight loss contest Challenge to Change, a 30-day fitness contest with a cosmetic surgery grand prize to increase product awareness. Right now, Trainer Plus supplements are available only by order and in Southwest Florida vitamin shops.

Smith is offering Trainer Plus supplements to Challenge to Change participants in packages ranging from $49 to $149, but contestants are not required to purchase any of the Trainer Plus products.  Registration is free but required.

Contestants have the choice between a Basic, Driven and Full Throttle supplement package, if they choose to try Trainer Plus’s system.  Each package offers unique fat burning potential with all natural ways to boost a contestant’s mood, drive and fat burning potential.

Trainer Plus owner Nick Smith said, “Losing weight can leave people with a need for cosmetic surgery to tighten up skin or perhaps leaving them wanting their skin brightened and resurfaced. It is up to the winner how he or she wants to use the cosmetic improvement prize."

Like any medical procedure, cosmetic surgery requires serious consideration, and Smith said the winner must provide a full medical disclosure to the surgeon as everyone is required to do for any surgery.  Smith said the grand prize should motivate those who feel that weight loss or toning might leave them wanting more or leave them with a true medical need for a cosmetic improvement.

Contestants must work to get into their personal best shape, shed the pounds and tell how the contest or Trainer Plus weight loss products helped them lose the weight.  The grand prize will be performed by a board certified surgeon located in Naples, Fla.  To register, people must visit http://www.trainerpluschallenge.com.

Registrants must be 18 years or older and must provide before photos (front, back, side) as well as personal information.  Each contestant does a 30 days program and then reports his or her results no later than Dec. 31, 2010 and is asked at that time to tell their personal story about how the contest helped with weight loss and why they want to win.  Registration is open through Nov. 30, 2010. For more information, potential contestants should call (239) 514-2090.
