Sept. 27, 2010 - PRLog -- A beautiful new wall calendar for 2011, FLUIDISM … 2011, features the remarkable fluid dynamics art of Robert G. Kernodle.

“Fluidism” is Kernodle’s label for a style of art where he manipulates real fluids to reveal fascinating natural patterns.  Available in two different sizes (a modest 11 x 17”, or a premium 13 x 19”), this calendar consists of high-quality 100# card stock, a full-color interior, and sturdy spiral-wire binding.   Both calendars are available for purchase online at the following addresses:

First realized by Kernodle in 2001, fluidism started as a style of painting and later developed into a related style of photography that focuses close-up on small pools and thin films of various liquid mixtures – water, acrylics, mineral oil, glycerin, oil paints, even egg whites.

In this style of art, liquid mixtures characteristically form dramatic bubbles, striking liquid beads, captivating craters, complex textures, decorative streams, awe-inspiring collisions, curious splatters, and delightful random blends of colors.  Nature’s most primitive beauty comes into view spontaneously.  The camera then captures these short-lived peak moments of fluid flow before they disappear.

Part planning and part improvisation, Kernodle’s images display amazing fragile events happening all around us.  These images are the only evidence of miniature, abstract paintings that are too active, too chaotic and too fleeting to hang on the wall in their original material states.  Kernodle’s FLUIDISM … 2011 wall calendars trap the best of these runaway patterns and presents them as daily reminders of how chaos can sometimes lead to good things.

In fluidism, Kernodle combines painting with photography to visualize humanity’s ultimate philosophy, where reality flows, and harmony dances with disharmony on equal grounds according to the rules of fluid dynamics.
