Chicago - After a summer hiatus, the boys of Bootleg Comedy are back this Tuesday September 28th, bigger and better than ever with a revived and rejuvenated show featuring the city’s best local stand-ups and top touring acts.

After opening up to a packed house in the fall of 2009, Bootleg Comedy (located at The Pitch, 2142 North Clybourn Ave.) quickly became one of the best received and most sought-out alternative stand-up comedy rooms in Chicago.  Headed by comics/producers Mike Joyce, Bob Palos, Matty Ryan and Junior Stopka, the weekly showcase generated excellent word of mouth and regularly packed in audiences seeking first-rate stand-up comedy in an intimate atmosphere.

Just when things seemed to be taking off for Bootleg Comedy the bar suddenly closed forcing Bootleg’s producers to go on summer hiatus.  After shopping around for a new venue the producers were approached by the location’s new owners, now under the moniker The Pitch, to continue the weekly comedy show.

“Now that our summer break is over, we’re just going to continue with the same winning formula,” says co-producer Joyce.  He and the rest of Bootleg crew have already lined up a roster of hot new acts, as well as established performers that have appeared on Saturday Night Live, The Tonight Show, The Late Show with Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel, and Comedy Central’s Live at Gotham.

Bootleg Comedy takes place every Tuesday night 9:00pm at The Pitch (2142 N. Clybourn). 21+, $5.
