Sept. 23, 2010 - PRLog -- Ormond Beach, Florida.  Teddy Simmons, Jr., a flight student from the Bahamas, who only started flying at Sunrise Aviation this past summer, has now received his FAA Instrument Rating.  Teddy received his Private Pilot LIcense less than two months ago. He completed his Instrument Rating on September 20, 2010 and received his new FAA certificate from Bruce Dunham, FAA Designated Pilot Examiner.

Teddy now moves on to the Commercial Pilot Certificate and will start flying a multi-engine airplane soon.  His target date for completing the final license and rating is now October 18th.  After that date, he hopes to return to the Bahamas and quickly begin his new career as a commercial pilot there.

The multi-engine flying at Sunrise Aviation, a flight school in Ormond Beach, Florida, will be done in a Piper Seminole.  Sunrise Aviation has three Piper Seminoles and a Piper Seneca available for student training.

Students at Sunrise Aviation typically start with the Private Pilot License in a single-engine airplane, complete an instrument rating in that single-engine airplane, and finally do the Commercial Pilot License in a multi-engine airplane.  Some students also complete a single-engine rating on that Commercial Pilot License especially if they want to be a flight instructor.  Students wanting to add the flight instructor certificate at Sunrise Aviation can complete all three ratings if they so desire, single-engine, multi-engine, and instrument airplane.

Teddy Simmons, Jr. is the second student from the Bahamas to move quickly through the Sunrise Aviation commercial pilot training program.  Students can typically finish this program at Sunrise Aviation in 6 months or less if they are willing to devote maximum effort to their training.  Airlines in the Bahamas are hiring so students returning there are expected to have an excellent chance of gaining employment as a airline first officer.

Sunrise Aviation has been in operation for over 27 years at Ormond Beach, Florida, located just 7 miles north of Daytona Beach.  They welcome students from around the world to their pilot training programs.  The most recent students at Sunrise Aviation have come from Nigeria, Tanzania, Brazil, Colombia, India, Egypt, Canada, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Tunisia, UAE, Israel, and Portugal.  Students from as many as 40 different countries have graduated from Sunrise Aviation in recent years.

Sunrise Aviation now has over 40 aircraft including three new glass cockpit Cessna 172s.  They recently added several new FAA approved commercial pilot and flight instructor courses.
