Sept. 22, 2010 - PRLog -- Israel Help has been saving lives for over thirty years.  Touching the lives of children such as Avi (name changed for confidentiality), who lost his father in a Tel Aviv terror attack.  Avi’s mother works at a minimum two full time jobs just to stay afloat.  The trauma has left him struggling in school, and his mother busy trying to sustain them is not always able to be there for him.  Israel Help has been there for Avi since the tragedy, loving him, feeding him, and helping him in school.  Israel Help has been there for many more kids such as Avi.  Ariel Bauer a professional psychologist commented, “That Israel Help gives education, future and hope to children and babies in need. It goes beyond the children themselves by providing a psychological outreach to their families."

Israel Help and Global Giving have created a successful partnership to ensure a second chance for 570 children ravaged by terror and poverty in Kiyat Gat, a small suburb outside of Tel Aviv, Israel.  With ten days left before the deadline, successfully providing meals, support, and education for these young people is ever closer.  The small dollar campaign was a join effort to reach all who care and provide them with the opportunity to get involved.

Even a gift of $18, which is significant in Judaism as 18 is the representation of the Hebrew word for life, provides a meal and transportation for two children.  “We want everyone to know that the help is still needed.  Terror and poverty are not old news.  These children need help every day, and we are there to give them a better life,” said Rabbi Yakov Levin, Development Director for Israel Help.
