Northrop Grumman Selects BancTec for Large Internal Revenue Service Scanning Contract

Sept. 21, 2010 - PRLog -- DALLAS August 31, 2010 – BancTec, a global provider of advanced, high volume document and payment processing solutions and services, has been selected by Northrop Grumman to provide 13 high-speed, high-volume scanners—and all related scanner control software—for four Internal Revenue Service (IRS) corporate tax processing facilities and two test centers.  As part of the multi-year, multi-million dollar contract, BancTec will also provide maintenance on data servers located in the IRS facilities.

BancTec’s IntelliScan solutions, with inline optical character barcode recognition, will be installed in four IRS submission processing centers—Austin, Texas, Ogden, Utah, Covington, Kentucky and Kansas City, Missouri—as well as in an IRS test and development center in Maryland and a Northrop Grumman test and development center in Reston, Virginia.  Full implementation of all 13 scanners is expected by the end of the first quarter of 2011.  Maintenance services on the IRS data servers will begin in September of 2010.
