Everblue to host Energy Auditing Workshop at GREENBUILD Chicago

Sept. 21, 2010 - PRLog -- Everblue Training Institute, the largest LEED Portfolio Education Provider for the US Green Building Council, will be hosting a timely workshop at this year’s GREENBUILD Conference and Expo entitled “HOMESTAR and Residential Energy Auditing.” The 3-day conference will take place in Chicago on November 17-19th.

The 4-hour course will give an overview of the major residential energy efficiency and weatherization programs available in the United States named by the US government's HOMESTAR program. HOMESTAR is a federal weatherization program intended to create green jobs, reduce energy consumption, and reduce carbon emissions.

Participants will learn about the Building Performance Institute (BPI) and the Residential Energy Service Network's (RESNET) Home Energy Rating System (HERS). Finally, course participants will learn the major sources of energy loss, discomfort, and poor indoor air quality that are common in a majority of homes across the United States.
