Sept. 20, 2010 - PRLog -- There is a huge misconception concerning how golf can be taught to a student. There is mainstream golf instruction which is usually opinion-based and often only panders to the players ego. A person taking this kind of instruction walks away with a satisfied ego but does not walk away with any kind of long-term and lasting solutions. This has often been the case in the past. Spike Collier, Director of Golf and Head Teaching Professional, says “This type of teaching experience is like eating air and expecting a full stomach.”

Some years back a few golf instructors began to make a paradigm shift in they way they taught golf. It was and is a shift toward acquiring accurate knowledge of the swing and an organized path to follow that includes check points on that path. This shift has lifted and upgraded the world of golf instruction to existing new heights and is opening the eyes of many of these mainstream teachers.

The instruction is based upon the works of Homer Kelley, author of The Golfing Machine (TGM), who spent his life pursuing a way to help the golf professional teach the golf swing. Spike Collier has studied a method that came from TGM for thirteen years, but it was just a small part of TGM and had its limitations. Over the past seven years he further investigated TGM as a whole and with this knowledge found many different ways to instruct students with long-lasting results. His performance-based curriculum will build your game, your understanding, and your confidence. “It is nice to actually ‘know’ what you are doing when hitting a good golf shot,” says Spike. His knowledge of golf swing components has enabled him to create very understandable teaching programmes that help players of all levels improve and realize their potential.

A “results oriented” teaching programme has certain requirements that must be fulfilled. These lie in the responsibilities of the teacher and those of the students. The teacher’s responsibilities are to inform, explain, demonstrate and guide. The student’s responsibility is to absorb and apply. Their junior golf programmes are also a huge success as it is not just the why and how of engineering and building a golf swing, but also the why and how of building in qualities of character that will prepare students for their futures. This is a job that is not to be taken lightly by the staff at Three-Generation Golf Academy (TGGA).

“We are not a ‘no substance’ academy that sacrifices quality and integrity. Our job is too important.  We want our students to ‘own their swing’. It doesn’t matter if you are a man, woman or child, a beginner golfer or tournament player, we offer straight forward information that will guarantee results,” says Spike.

The entire instruction curriculum at TGGA is based not only in science but also it has hidden tools that perpetuate the building of a ‘Belief System’ that you can take straight to the golf course. TGGA offers a unique and successful golf training experience. With its motto Giving you the Knowledge for Power and Precision TGGA stands by its claim that it offers the truth about how and why the golf swing works and especially how the golf swing can work for you.

“We engage the student’s mind, encourage them to open their eyes and dive in with all their heart so they can play this great game of golf in this great big world. Remember, no one is bigger than the game and it’s a game for a lifetime,” says Spike.

From short game development to driving full-out, everything you need to improve your game has been incorporated into the Three-Generation Golf Academy.
