Free FTP Uptime Monitoring & Alert Service Launched
FTP uptime monitoring and alert service helps system admins keep their FTP services running, offers FTP monitors loaded with plenty of features.
Sept. 20, 2010 - PRLog -- SysOjo announces launch of free FTP uptime monitoring and alert service. It repeatedly logs into the given FTP server at regular intervals set by the system admin. In case there is a connection failure or login failure or any other custom criteria failure, it immediately alerts the technical support personnel listed in the monitor by email or SMS so that corrective action can be taken quickly, minimizing the server down time. Email alerts are free and so are SMS alerts in most of the cases.
SysOjo.com provides a very easy and intuitive interface to add FTP monitors. After creating an account, a system admin has to just enter the IP address or host name to be monitored. Then, depending on the FTP server importance or load, the server can be selected to be monitored at time intervals ranging from 1 minute to 1 hour. Sysadmins can also select which and how many alerts to be sent for each event. Both email and SMS alerts are supported. Alerts can be configured to be sent to one or more contacts.
Another great tool provided is the stats page showing current FTP server status along with daily, weekly, monthly, yearly and all time uptime statistics. Other parameters like response time can also be optionally added to the stats page. The uptime stats page can be made public also with the click of a mouse. This allows the site admin or other concerned personnel to check the server status without actually logging into the account.
Each time the FTP server is checked, a log is created and saved in the database for account holder's reference. Detailed logs are retained for a month. In the event a website goes down, account admins can look into the logs to see when and what status code was returned by their FTP server. Though this information is sent in the alerts also, it is specific to that very check. Logs allow all checks to be analyzed in case deeper debugging is required. Users can also see graphs of parameters being monitored.
