James Sprayregen, Counsel to GGPLP in Largest Chapter 11, to Join Distressed Investing Conference

Sept. 19, 2010 - PRLog -- James Sprayregen, Partner, Kirkland & Ellis LLP, former Co-Head of Goldman Sach's Restructuring Group and counsel to GGPLP L.L.C. in largest chapter 11 undertaken by U.S. Real Estate Investment Trust, will present at Golden Networking's Distressed Investing Experts Forum 2010, "Analyzing and Valuing Distressed Companies, Securities and Real Estate" (http://www.DistressedInvestingExpertsForum.com), September 21st, 2010, Consulate General of the Republic of Poland, New York City.

Mr. Sprayregen has counseled GGPLP L.L.C., and certain of its affiliates, in their Chapter 11 reorganization. GGP and its consolidated affiliates reported approximately $29.6 billion in total assets and $27.3 billion in total liabilities as of December 31, 2008. Through its affiliates, GGP owns and manages more than 200 regional shopping centers and other properties across 44 states. These filings constitute the largest Chapter 11 cases undertaken by a real estate investment trust in U.S. history. Kirkland is advising certain of the filing entities with respect to various aspects of their reorganization.

Mr. Sprayregen is a frequent lecturer and speaker, and also has published numerous articles on insolvency, fiduciary duty and distressed M&A issues. He also served for three years as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and for one year as an Adjunct Professor at New York University School of Law. In addition, Mr. Sprayregen has lectured at The London Business School, The University of Illinois College of Law, The University of Michigan Law School, and The University of Michigan Liberal Arts College.
