Sept. 18, 2010 - PRLog -- Anti Jihadist Muslim Zionist journalist and editor Salah Uddin Shoaib Choudhury goes on trial on October 5, 2010 in a court in Dhaka, the Capital city of Bangladesh. This will be his 155th appearance in the court since he was released on bail. Internationally acclaimed human rights activist and lawyer Dr. Irwin Cotler MP is his international lawyer, while a group of Bangladeshi lawyers are also fighting this legal battle in favor of Mr. Choudhury.

Shoaib Choudhury faces sedition, treason and blasphemy for confronting militant Islam, advocating relations between Bangladesh and Israel and for opposing breeding Jihadists inside Madrassas. According to Bangladeshi law, sedition bears capital punishment [death penalty]. He was arrested on November 29, 2003 at Dhaka International Airport on his way to Israel for attending a Peace Conference organized by the Hebrew Writer’s Association in Tel Aviv. Israeli professor Dr. Ada Aharoni invited Mr. Choudhury to this event. He would have been first Bangladeshi national to visit Israel.

After his arrest, Choudhury was tortured in custody for consecutive 10 days and was sent into solitary confinement for 17 months. He was later released from prison at the intervention of US Congressman Mark Steven Kirk.

US Congress and European Union Parliament passed resolutions in favor of Mr. Choudhury. Australian Senate, British House of Commons and Canadian Parliament also passed similar statemenst.

Shoaib Choudhury received a number of international awards including Freedom to Write Award from PEN USA in 2005; Moral Courage Award from American Jewish Committee in 2006; Key to Englewood City [NJ] in 2007 and Monaco Media Award in 2007.

Mr. Choudhury is the editor of Weekly Blitz, the only anti-Jihadist pro-Israel newspaper in the Muslim world, which has both print and online edition. He is set to launch a daily newspaper named The Daily Frontline from December this year. He recently resigned from an US non-profit organization named Forcefield, when it refused to raise voice against Bahai persecution in Iran, Ahmadiya persecution in Pakistan and Bangladesh and Christian persecution in India. He was one of the three founding members of this organization.

Shoaib Choudhury was interviewed in a recently released feature length documentary named America At Risk, which is directed by R. James Woolsey.
