America’s Hometown Thanksgiving Celebration And Grand Parade 2010

Plymouth Massachusetts weekend of activities to celebrate our nation’s history and heritage

Sept. 17, 2010 - PRLog -- Plymouth, MA, November 19th– November 21st. –The 15th Annual America’s Hometown Thanksgiving Celebration will take place again on the weekend before Thanksgiving in Plymouth, MA, site of the first Thanksgiving.  For more than a decade, hundreds of thousands of people have made the pilgrimage to Downtown Plymouth to experience a bounty of authentic Americana.

Friday evening, November 19th, includes an invitation-only South Shore Living Magazine VIP Reception from 5-6:30PM in the Blue Room of Memorial Hall, 83 Court Street.  A free Patriotic Concert honoring America’s Veterans follows the reception. WCVB-TV Co-anchors Randy Price, Bianca de la Garza, JC Monahan and Dorothy Krysiuk will MC this spectacular evening, featuring The American Originals followed by our U.S. Air Force Tops in Blue, currently on world tour! Doors open at 6:00pm for general seating, first come-first served.

On Saturday, November 20th the Grand Parade begins along Plymouth’s Historic Waterfront at 10:30 am.  The Parade begins with a military flyover followed by the only chronologically ordered parade in the country. Enjoy the day along the Plymouth Waterfront visiting the Crafter’s Pavilion (open 11am-4pm), the Kids Tent (open 11am-4pm) and be sure to sample the food and cast your vote at The New England Food Festival (open 11am-4pm). Admission for the Food Festival is $10.00 and kids under 5 eat free.

A new addition to this exciting tradition…The Wampanoag Educational Pavilion.  Join us for an interactive lesson about Native American history and culture. We end this amazing celebration with the Drum and Bugle Corps “Reunion Concert” at Plymouth Memorial Hall at 7:00pm. Go to www.memorialhall.com for ticket information regarding the concert.

The Harvest Festival kicks off on Sunday, November 21st, with the return of the Crafter’s Pavilion (open 11am-4pm), the Kids Tent (open 11am-4pm) and The Wampanoag Educational Pavilion (open 11- 4pm). Joining us… the edible South Shore Harvest Market (open from 11am-4pm) along the Plymouth Waterfront. New this year is the chance to experience an authentic Plimoth Plantation Thanksgiving dinner and access to the Mayflower II for only $25.00!
