Performance Team announces Mike Yerkes as new Vice President of Operations
Performance Team announces the addition of Mike Yerkes as Vice President of Operations, PT Northeast.
About Mike Yerkes, VP of Operations, Performance Team Northeast:
Mr. Yerkes is backed by an impressive 12-year career at Jones Apparel Group, earning titles of Director of Engineering, VP Business Solutions Group, VP Customer Service, and VP Operations support. While at Jones Apparel Group, Mr. Yerkes led ground-up startups of warehouses across North America, including structural design, facility design, process design, staffing, and training. Yerkes also implemented high speed cross belt and tilt tray sortation utilized in both apparel and footwear distribution. He led IT projects ranging from WMS customization and installation to ERP design and implementation, and also worked closely with senior management on all acquisition integration activities to ensure smooth business transitions.
The veteran also spent two years as Senior Vice President of Operations at The Moret Group. While there, he worked with Customs to set up a First Sale import process, which resulted in significant duty savings. At Moret, he also established new partnership with international logistics companies to better manage freight from factory to point of origin through the use of software and EDI protocols. Mr. Yerkes also made operational changes from factories in China to local distribution in order to increase shipping accuracy to key accounts such as Kohl’s. Through his efforts, Moret’s average performance grade significantly improved in one year.
Mr. Yerkes holds a BS in Industrial Engineering and an MBA from the Pennsylvania State University.
