New Cincinnati Veterinary Practice Offers Up Pet-Friendly Grand Opening

Sept. 16, 2010 - PRLog -- CINCINNATI—PAWS Hospital in Symmes Township is hosting a Grand Opening Celebration on Saturday, September 25 from 9am to noon. The event is free and pets are welcome.

PAWS Hospital, opened earlier this year by Dr. Lisa McMahan and her husband, Dave McMahan, is Cincinnati’s newest veterinary practice. Located in the Enyart Square Plaza in Symmes Township on Montgomery Rd., PAWS offers balanced, comprehensive pet care.

The Grand Opening Celebration will feature free food and drinks, giveaways, prize drawings, live music, a pet communicator and the chance to meet the doctor and staff. PAWS Hospital is also providing coupons for a free initial office exam to new clients.

Donetta Zimmerman, a pet communicator in Cincinnati, will be at the Grand Opening from 10am-noon. Donetta will be available to do a reading of your pet by photograph or in person.

“Being a Loveland resident, it is great to be able to offer high quality veterinary care so close to home. This grand opening event is not only a celebration of PAWS Hospital, but also a chance for us to offer something to the local community,” said Dr. Lisa McMahan, veterinarian and owner.

Several businesses in the Enyart Square Plaza are involved in the event as well. PAWS Hospital is providing drinks, Papa Johns is providing pizza and cookies are being provided by A Spoon Fulla Sugar.  Prize drawings include a gift basket from A Bottle or Two wine store, a home reading from Donetta Zimmerman and dog and cat goodie baskets.

“We are so pleased with the support of the community and our neighbors already,” said Dave McMahan, Manager, “this is just our chance to give back a little.”

Dr. Lisa McMahan graduated from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1995 with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. After graduation she completed an informal internship in veterinary internal medicine for one year at the Veterinary Internal Medicine Clinic. In 1996, she began working at Madeira Veterinary Hospital and remained there for 13 years until leaving to open PAWS Hospital in 2010. Prior to her veterinary career she earned a nursing degree from the University of Cincinnati. She worked as an RN mainly in the operating room and helping teach laparoscopic procedures. Besides veterinary medicine, Dr. McMahan's interests include her family, gardening and her pets.
PAWS Hospital offers basic services like physical exams, vaccinations and nail trims, and also more advanced services like on-site surgery, X-ray, dental cleanings and extractions. PAWS Hospital can handle a variety of internal medicine cases as well including diabetes, kidney disease, thyroid disease, liver disease, Cushings disease and more.
