Sept. 16, 2010 - PRLog -- Toronto (ON), Canada - September 16, 2010 - Zevrix Solutions today released BatchOutput Server 4.5.6, an important update to its powerful output workflow automation solution for Adobe InDesign. Originally developed for one of the largest magazine publishers in the United States, the software automates InDesign output by processing files from hotfolders. BatchOutput Server offloads printing and exporting to PDF and PostScript to a central system leaving operator workstations free from the output process.

"BatchOutput Server is an extremely useful utility for a busy production facility or advertising agency", writes David Creamer in Layers magazine, "It can save lots of time - which equates to money."

The workflow setup process is very simple. The first step involves installing the Server product on a stand-alone Macintosh system that has InDesign installed. After starting the Server application, one sets up workflows for various output needs (including multiple PDF output options), which are linked to their own hotfolders on the network. Other useful server options include exporting as single pages, appending file names with variable info, links auto-update, error handling, and email notification:

Under the workflow, production artists and prepress operators simply submit InDesign files to hotfolders that reside on the network. BatchOutput Server automatically outputs the files from its dedicated station using hotfolder settings, and will auto-activate document fonts as well. Operator workstations will never again be tied up by the output process. The workflow also ensures that correct output settings will be always used.

The new version improves handling of long queues and addresses an issue which could cause an error when processing queues over fifty-six files long. Other improvements include file counters in processing tables, better handling of missing hotfolders, more accurate reporting of processing time, and numerous interface enhancements. This update is strongly recommended for all BatchOutput Server users.

Pricing and Availability:
BatchOutput Server 4.5.6 can be purchased from the Zevrix Solutions web site, http://zevrix.com, for US$699.95, as well as from authorized resellers. Trial is also available for download. The update is free for licensed users. BatchOutput Server is a Universal Binary, runs on Mac OS X 10.4.2-10.6 and works with Adobe InDesign CS2-CS5.
