Sept. 16, 2010 - PRLog -- ORLANDO, FL - The Masters Conference, an advanced legal educational experience, announced today that Deloitte will be a sponsor at its 2010 conference. Deloitte helps companies and outside counsel manage the discovery process from readiness to review and production. Specific discovery-related services provided by Deloitte include litigation readiness, data collection, data filtering, processing, hosting, document review and production.

This year’s conference theme is “Litigation and Discovery in a World of Technology,” and will be held October 4-6, 2010 at the Ronald Reagan Building in Washington, D.C.

The Masters Conference brings together leading experts and professionals from law firms, corporations and the bench to develop strategies, practices and resources for managing the information lifecycle. This year’s conference will focus on how corporations can protect themselves against the risks associated with global, mobile and cloud-based opportunities and challenges. It delves into legal hold strategies, international privacy laws, high profile scandals, security breaches, IP threats, increased litigation, audits and regulatory investigations.

At the Masters Conference, Deloitte will host a panel session on October 4 at 3:00 p.m. titled, “Possession, Custody and Control in the Cloud,” which will discuss the pros and cons of cloud computing and the unique information management and discovery challenges it poses to counsel. The panel will be moderated by Andy Ruckman, Principal, Deloitte Financial Advisory Services LLP, and Barry Wiggins, Director, Deloitte Financial Advisory Services LLP, and will include panelists from outside counsel.

“Understanding cloud computing is highly relevant to counsel,” said Andy Ruckman at Deloitte. “During this panel we will identify some of the major issues associated with cloud computing, such as content monitoring, data security and privacy, and collection. We will also describe some of the important discovery challenges and considerations and illustrate how technologies may be leveraged to meet those challenges.”

In addition to the Deloitte panel, there will be other educational topics that delve into critical, up-to-the-minute issues facing legal departments and their outside counsel.
