Indie Authors of Historical Fiction Join Forces for Virtual Book Launch Party for "Beyond All Price"
Elizabeth Egerton Wilder, author of The Spruce Gum Box, will be featured 9/16/10 in the Interview Room for the Virtual Book Launch Party of Beyond All Price by Carolyn Schriber.
The Spruce Gum Box is Wilder’s debut novel. The book portrays a family forged by adversity, and a community united by dreams. Set in an 1820's Maine lumbering camp, the novel chronicles a man's fight to protect his son by taking refuge among the Micmac Indians, forming an unlikely alliance. “I was thrilled to be asked to help a fellow-author introduce her book and I love the idea of a virtual launch party,” the author noted. Beyond All Price by Dr. Carolyn Schriber is set during the Civil War and tells the story of Nellie Chase Leath, who served as matron and nurse in the Roundhead Regiment from Pennsylvania. Nellie fought her own series of wars, against an abusive husband, against a vengeful Presbyterian minister, against nineteenth-century attitudes toward women who lacked the protection of family status, and ultimately, against a foe more lethal than war itself.
