Sept. 16, 2010 - PRLog -- The Texas Nursery & Landscape Association (TNLA) honored excellence in landscaping this year at its annual awards dinner held at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas during the Nursery/Landscape Expo.

More than 200 guests honored the award winning projects, which received a total of 6 Gold, 10 Silver,  and 10 Bronze Awards. Texas landscape contractors, landscape designers and others working with homeowners and businesses were among those who gathered to view a presentation of the projects receiving awards.

Texas Nursery & Landscape Association's TEIL Award program provides an opportunity for those in the landscape industry to promote public awareness of their role in environmental improvements.

In addition to receiving a Gold Award for Residential Maintenance, Lambert Landscape Company of Dallas won the Grand Platinum Award for its Neo-Classical Garden Residence project. The Grand Platinum Award is given to only one submission per year. It is the landscape project that receives the highest cumulative marks by the panel of judges for all categories. This project represents the best of the best.

The Texas Department of Agriculture selected a photo to be part of a featured GO TEXAN wildlife exhibit within the Food and Fiber Pavilion presented by Borden at the 2010 State Fair of Texas. A photo from Silver Award winner L.D. Erickson of Arlington will be used as a 10’ x 10’ native landscape backdrop for the interactive wildlife area. The State Fair of Texas runs September 24 through October 17 in Dallas. For more information about State Fair, visit www.bigtex.com.
