Sept. 16, 2010 - PRLog -- From 2nd - 9th November Hotel Okura Amsterdam, the Japanese owned hotel that is renowned for its cuisine, will be participating in the week long annual ‘Kookboeken7daagse’ culinary event that aims to share the pleasure and knowledge of cooking techniques through the promotion of the nation’s cookbooks.

Hotel Okura Amsterdam’s teppanyaki restaurant – Sazanka will play an important part in this event as it is The Netherland’s only teppanyaki restaurant with its own cookbook, ‘Sazanka – Refined Teppanyaki Cuisine’, which was written by Chef Nonaka of Hotel Okura Amsterdam.

During the event the restaurant will be serving a ‘cookbook menu’. All the courses of this menu will be from Chef Nonaka’s recipe book and guests will have the opportunity to see the Chef in action before their own eyes. The menu is priced at €79.50 per person (excluding drinks and the cookbook).

To complement the event on 11th November, Chef Nonaka will be hosting a cooking workshop at the hotel’s Taste of Okura cooking studio, which opened at the end of last year in the hotel. In the course of this culinary session, guests will have the opportunity to prepare recipes from the book together with the Chef in person. The cooking workshop is €110 per person, including drinks (recipe book not included). Reservations are required.

The 5 star Hotel Okura Amsterdam is owned by Japanese hotel company Okura Hotels and Resorts and is a member of the Leading Hotels of the World. It is located on the banks of the Amstel Canal, and holds three Michelin stars at its four restaurants and two bars, making it the ultimate place to stay and dine in the heart of the Dutch capital.

A one night stay at Hotel Okura Amsterdam costs from €210 per room per night excluding breakfast and 5% city tax. Reservations for the cookbook menu and/or the workshop can be made via or 0031 20 6787 450
