Hailsham Town Council has a vacancy for a councillor to represent the Upper Horsebridge ward.

Sept. 16, 2010 - PRLog -- Any person wishing to be considered for co-option to the Town Council, should apply in writing to the Town Clerk at the Town Council Offices, Inglenook, Market Street, Hailsham, East Sussex, BN27 2AE by Monday 27th September 2010 at the latest.

Applicants are advised to include information in respect of any personal qualifications or past/current civic and community participation, which they consider supports their application for the office of Town Councillor.

Applications will be considered at a meeting of Hailsham Town Council to be held on 4th October 2010. Applicants may be invited to address the Council prior to voting.

Town Clerk Liz Jones said being a Town Councillor is an opportunity to help make a difference to the quality of life for all Hailsham residents: “You don't need any special qualifications to be a Councillor; all you need is an interest in local issues and doing things for the good of the town, an ability to make decisions at grass roots level, and a willingness to commit to up to several hours each month.”
