When speaking of meditation, many people come up with the thought of long, calming, relaxing sessions that tend to end in deep sleep. And they’re right about it:

Sept. 16, 2010 - PRLog -- When preparing for meditation, having the children safely in bed is the first step, turning off all possible confounders – the windows are to be shut, even the telephone ought to be unplugged. In addition, a suitable seated or lying position is to be found; for one is to attentively listen to meditation. The relaxation exercises, including the preparation phase but ignoring the episode of deep sleep, will consume a good hour of time by themselves – which is, for many, too long a time span.
