Sept. 13, 2010 - PRLog -- Zombie Party and Halloween Ball Focuses on Kingston Community & Safety

“Community Spirits” takes on new meaning when 323 Wall Street in conjunction with the Kingston Neighborhood Watch throw the “The Zombie Bash” on Saturday, October 30.

Zombies "Attack" Kingston NY

The Halloween event begins with a “Zombie Only” pre-party at The Pitts, 168 Wall Street, a benefit hosted by the Neighborhood Watch beginning at 7:30pm.  Only “Zombies” in costume will be admitted to the pre-party.

Zombie Flesh-eaters and non-flesh eaters alike will enjoy ghoulish snacks and Halloween treats at the pre-party before taking to the Kingston streets at 8:30pm. A “Zombie Walk” through Kingston’s most historic neighborhood, where colonial stone houses and the Old Dutch Church graveyard add to the Halloween ambience, will end at 323 Wall Street as the Zombie Bash whips into a frenzy .

For non-zombies, the doors open at 8pm to the general public at  323 Wall Street for the Zombie Bash and Halloween Party.

Biggest Halloween Ball of the Season

The Zombie Bash threatens to be Kingston’s most outrageous Halloween party as 323 Wall Street provides a haunting party space as cavernous former vaudeville theater erected in the 1870s.  In addition to the frightening décor, guests will shake their bones to the rocking sounds and sights of the Voodelic band’s Blacklight Spectacular  "The Night of the Living Voo" plus the mixes of DJs Grasshopper and Anthony Carlos Molina, both of Kingston-based ensemble Mercury Rev.

"This is a great and positive event for the Kingston Neighborhood Watch (http://www.kingston-ny-neighborhood-watch.com/), to be associated with,” said group co-founder Mike D’Arcy.  “It encourages everyone in the community to get together in a safe environment where local business and cultural centers will do well.”  D’Arcy, whose group has been successful in assisting local law enforcement help reduce Kingston street crime, noted the night’s irony in using zombies, who are naturally terrifying, to promote safety.

323 Wall Street general manager, Sevan Melikyan, added “the old vaudeville theater at 323 Wall Street, with a proscenium dating from the 19th century, is the only perfect place for a Halloween party like this.  Let this creepy occasion be when many culture-vultures discover and enjoy the space, which will be open year-round offering music and artistic events of all kinds.“
